Color Blocking

Friday, March 11, 2011

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm not a model. So posing for blog photos is quite a challenge at times. My husband and I have been shooting pictures the last few days and it is really hard to remember all your angles and try to visualize how things will look on film. So please bear with my while I try to utilize all my America's Next Top Model knowledge ;) Luckily thus far we haven't killed each other and the pictures are coming out pretty good for beginners. Let me know what you think, or of you have any tips!! What I have featured below is my version of color blocking. This outfit is WAY out of my realm of comfort, but I decided I could use a little color these days. I never thought I would be wearing red-orange, royal blue and banana yellow all in the same outfit. Well....cheers to new ideas!! This lovely little number cost under $25.00!!

OMG. I love your blog. My name's Anna, I'm a stylist and visual merchandiser in LA. I'm 23 years old and moved to California after graduating back in south with a degree in visual merchandiser. I've worked with such designers as Max Azria, Nicole Richie, and my idol Rachel Zoe. I'd love if you visited my new blog for multiple posts a day on all things fashion. I'd love the support. I'm following you, I hope you'll do the same. Thanks so much.

I really like the red, and blue together. When I take pictures I try to relax my face, and pose naturally. It helps that my boyfriend cracks a lot of jokes so I get real smiles.

@Anna & @clotheshound Thank You!!

@myheartblogged: thank you for the tip! I just hate my down turned lips b/c I always look angry. I think I'm just going to have a big cheesy smile from now on :D

Even though you mentioned that these colors are definitely out of you comfort zone, you worked the whole outfit so confidently and even though it would be difficult to pull these colors together, you pulled it off flawlessly and the pictures turned out great. :)
