Pout Perfect

I don't know if any of you can relate but I have a serious obsession with obsessions. I will see something and then become obsessed with finding it. My most recent craze is a bubblegum pink matte lipstick. I used to think it was so 80's, but recently I've had a change of heart. I was perusing Kristina Bazan's Blog (http://www.kayture.com), and saw her sporting this amazingly bright pout. I am not usually one for lipstick, I'm kinda a gloss girl, but something about her images made me say "I've Got To Find That!" So naturally the very next day I began my hunt. I started at Ulta (a cheaper version of Sephora) and one of the girls recommended the brand NYX and it's a soft matte cream. I thought I was totally good and had found what I wanted, quick and easy. However, when I got home It didn't quite have the bold color I was searching for. Thus, the next day I found myself at a MAC counter and picked up their version of a satin pink. I once again was very content with my purchase. Then, I was surfing around on Facebook and saw one of my girlfriends wearing the same shade I've been pining over. I asked her what brand it was and crazy enough, it's Revlon. As you can guess I went and bought that one too! So now I have three, pretty similar, pink lipsticks and what am I going to do with them??

I think I shall blog :D I am not going to keep all three but I figured I would do a little mini review on the three brands I found. If you're looking for the perfect pouty pink lip, listen up...

First Off, My inspiration.....
This is Kristen, (I hope you don't mind I swiped your pic) Gorgeous Right?!?

Now, The Three Culprits....

(From Left to Right)
First NYX, color tokyo, It is a soft matte cream. So it goes on smooth and drys Matte. Second, Revlon's Matte color Pink Pout and third is MAC's satin finish, color Snob.

My first review is on the NYX brand. At first I really liked this one, my problem is that it is very subtle in hue. After trying to apply it multiple times  (to achieve a desired richness) it became "cakey" (sp?) It is at a nice price point of under $6. I also got a nude colored one as well, which I will be keeping. I think I will return the pink one however, because I have found others I like better :)
(See Below)

The second shade I found was from MAC. I don't normally buy MAC products just because of the sheer price point. This satin lipstick is no exception. The color Snob, retails for over $15... wowzer. I did buy it anyways because one, I rarely splurge but two, that damn obsession I had was not going away! I REALLY like this lipstick. It seems to have everything I am looking for. It is not completely a matte finish, but it isn't shiny either. I love the rich color and although I know it is hard to see in my pictures (bad lighting) it really pops! Honestly, the only thing negative I have about this one is the price.

The third lip color I have purchased in the last three days, is Revlon's Pink Pout Matte Lipstick. This one wins for me on ALL fronts! I love the smoothness and the matte affect this color has! Not to mention, I bought it at Rite Aid (on sale) for under $6!! The only downfall is that, this color is sold out almost everywhere, and I can see why! I know I will keep this one, but I still like the MAC one too... I might keep both :)

Below is my girlfriend Ashley wearing the Revlon shade. My pictures do not do it justice, so on her you can see how bright it is :)
Love you Ash, Hope you don't mind me stealing your pic :)

and... since we're talking lips, I love this new lip gloss!!

It's Maybelline's Baby Lips in Peach Kiss, I love it!
