One Year Anniversary!!

Friday, December 16, 2011

Disclaimer: My technical one year is December 20th but I figured this was the last week that people would have any brain power left :D Personally mine stopped functioning two days ago :)

Happy one-year anniversary to My Thrifty Chic!! I cannot believe is has been a whole year since I began this little hobby. I never considered myself a writer in any form, but I have really fallen in love with blogging. It is amazing how fun it can be to write about things you are actually passionate about (what a novel idea). This blog means so much to me, probably more than I can explain. This blog has brought me back in touch with things I am passionate about, things I thought I was loosing interest in. When you work so long doing the things you “have” to do, you sometimes forget about the things you “want” to do. My Thrifty Chic has reminded me I can have a future in fashion and I can make my passion a reality. I started blogging as an outlet with no real expectations. In the last year I have steadily increased my monthly page views from 1,000 to over 2,000. I know it is not a ton, but my husband keeps reminding me about exponential growth. I have big dreams and big plans for My Thrifty Chic, and we are going to get there one way or another!!

I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this first year!! You have no idea what your support means to me. As an artist we are a bit self-doubting and external feedback really makes it all worth it. I hope I have inspired you to follow your passions and to look fabulous doing it! I have a very special thank you I would like to dole out to someone who probably has no idea she has touched my life. A young lady by the name of Jenni Radosevich. She is the author of I saw an editorial on her in an In style Magazine a little over a year ago, where I was introduced to her blog. In the past year a lot of blogs have inspired me but Jenni was the catalyst; she is the sole reason I started blogging. So to you, Jenni, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do and inspiring me also!

My last and final Thank you goes to my Husband. He is my biggest fan and he thinks everything I do and make is amazing, God love him! He came into my life when I was in my 3rd year of college working on a Psychology degree. He asked me why on earth I was doing psych when I clearly loved fashion so much more. It was at that moment of blankness I decided he was right (a rare occasion) and I switched my major, moved 2,000 miles from home and paid 25K/year to get a degree in Fashion Marketing. I bitch a lot about college and the price of it, but I wouldn't go back and change a thing! I did receive a great education and everyday I find myself using something I read in a textbook. With my passion and education of fashion I am 100% confident that I will find success in this crazy industry. I do not know how or when, but it will happen. So, Thank you to Brett Cameron Thompson for always pushing me to dream a little bigger!

I hope you have enjoyed my first year as much as I have, please fasten your seat belt and sit tight because next year is going fly by even faster!!

Cheers, to the little blog that could, and is, and will!!

Below I've composed just a "few" of the pictures I've taken over the last 365 days :)

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
