Play Clothes

Monday, December 26, 2011

A lovely fellow Los Angeles blogger (Trend Righter) told me about a string of thrift stores in Burbank CA. So last week, my husband and I set out to check them out! They are located on Magnolia blvd. West of the 5 fwy if anyone is interested. Surprisingly it wasn't the thrift shops that captivated me on this trip, it was a quaint vintage store! The Store is called Playclothes and I imagine if I ever had a thrift/vintage store It would look like this. I am not a big Vintage store shopper, because A) I think the term 'vintage' is used too loosely in order to charge more for something and often times a lot of the clothing is not wearable and I fear ruining it. I do however Love vintage jewelry, but the price is usually a factor :/ Sorry, I digress, back the store! It was set up in era's,  you could transcend from the 20's to the 60's and everything in between. They had cases and cases of Vintage and artisan jewelry and gorgeous accessories! If you are a Vintage lover, you should check out this store, it was super organized and looked like it had some really quality merchandise! My very modern shopping look that I sported this day, cost $64.00 :)

** These last couple of photos we snapped inside the store. I just wanted to show some of the cool things they have :)**

This is just one of the many displays of bangles they had. So many accessories to choose from!

I think they're tags are great and very informative! I love that they have the decade included!!

This picture was taken in their "western" section. It was a very 'John Wayne-esque' corner :)

Such awesome finds, nothing like that feeling! Love thrifting, esp here in Bakersfield! LOL I will admit to you that I don't see much style here as I did back in Orange County, but there are some! I definitely get some gawking from time to time here, but sort of used it by now! Glad you found me on twitter!

How fun! I adore the trench coat and think it was 15 bucks well spent. Also jealous of those boots - I've been on the hunt for a pair like that since the autumn season!
