What's {trending} in Thrift: Spring Whites

Monday, May 7, 2012

Sorry about lagging on postings of my "What's trending in Thrift" Section. It may be hard to believe, but I haven't actually been making it to the thrift store as often as I'd like these days. My husband's between jobs (the ebbs and flow of the entertainment business), so we've been trying to cut back. I have had to keep myself from even stepping foot inside a Goodwill, because once I do, I know I'll find something I "need" to have :D

Today however, I treated myself to a thrift store outing and found some inspiration for Spring & Summer! The color white is HUGE right now, so I set out to show you that you can still find the trendiest garments on the cheap :)

1. Steve Madden Wedges: Wedges are my favorite type of high heel and these white canvas ones would be perfect for all the outdoor events this season! They were selling for $7.99, but too bad they were 2 sizes too big for me :/

2. Liz Claiborne Shoulder Bag: I am usually a little scared off by white purses because I tend to get them dirty so quickly. But with white being one of thee colors this season, I'm going to have to pull out one of my old favorites :) I don't need another white bag, or else I might have snagged this one for only $7.99

3. Express Tank Dress: My eyes immediately spied this cute little dress when I walked through the doors. It was light weight and had really cute studs all down the front. Only one problem, it was too small for me. I'm sure someone else snagged it quick though! Another $7.99 steal!

4. Forever 21 Blazer: White blazers have been in since winter, and it doesn't seem like they're going anywhere yet. I had to pick up this F21 one for myself! At $5.99 how can you resist?

5. Rubbish Linen Pants: I have a love-hate relationship with linen. I like it much better in theory than reality. I seems like a good idea until you sit for longer than 10 minutes and then you realize wrinkles have just become part of your fashion statement. Despite my negative sentiments, linen is great for warm weather and these trousers were only $5.49

6. Old Navy Shorts: These are a new favorite in my closet! I vary rarely find a pair of shorts that I don't have to sag to cover my butt! I love this style, they're white and so absolutely perfect for the season :) I took them home for a whopping $5.49!!

I saw a two dozen more amazing garments in various shades of white, cream and ivory. White is a hue you can always find in thrift stores, it virtually never goes out of style. It's a staple! So, instead of hitting the mall to find a white dress for spring, check the thrift stores first :)
