We've discussed what "ombré" is correct? I'm pretty sure everyone is up-to-date on this term but just in case... it's another way of saying faded or gradual change in color. The term ombré gained it's momentum with hair but now we are using it in clothing too! I've seen a bunch of DIY's lately on "dip-dye" and creating that ombré effect, so I wanted to test it myself. I took a thrifted blouse, added some bleach and... voila! (scroll to the bottom to see the actual tutorial) My whole outfit cost just under $50!!

Here's How I did it:
1. I started with a simple Chambray shirt
thrifted for $5
2. I sectioned off the part I wanted to bleach. You can
use a hair tie, clip, or just eyeball it.
3. I put a quart of water and a cup of bleach in my sink.
I watered down the bleach because I didn't know how
fast the color would turn. If you want it to turn white, do not
water down the bleach. I however, liked the subtle color change
over a harsh difference. Leave it in the bleach until
you achieve the desired shade.
you achieve the desired shade.
4. Lastly, rinse the bleach out and then wash it
thoroughly :)

The top looks great! I've been loving all the DIY ombre clothes lately, but haven't tried it myself. Your shirt came out really well! And those boots are so cute! You seem to find great things at Goodwill. :) <3

Can I just tell you I am doing a DIY for Monday, but I can't wait to try this one. I think you'll be very intrigued by mine as well!
I love the simplicity of this outfit, especially that sweet necklace! The shirt turned out perfectly!
I love the idea. I am going to give it a try!
I love that it fades nice and softly. Been doing this a lot lately with chambray tops! The deer ring is quite a find. Love it!
This is a great idea! So cute, and easy, too!
