Vogue inspired

Thursday, July 12, 2012

I bought this striped tube dress at the thrift store but I had no clue how I was going to style it. I sat in front of my mirror trying on different shoes, blouses, belts and a variety of other accessories. I can't recall at what point it was, but somewhere along the line I grabbed my big sun hat and immediately thought it was reminiscent of a vintage Vogue cover.  My husband agreed, he thought he had seen this look before as well.  We scoured the internet, looking for vintage fashion magazine covers, but came up empty. We decided to shoot the outfit anyways, because well, that's what we do :D I really loved the outcome of these photos, definitely some of my favorite to date.

Afterwards, I asked my mother-in-law to create a Vogue cover for me, since I couldn't find a real one. Scroll to the bottom to see Susan Thompson magic ;) Not to mention, this entire outfit cost me under $20!! Is that a record for {mtc}? I should look into that ;)
