I have lived in Los Angeles for over 2 years and I have never been to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, can you believe it?? The Rose Bowl is know has one of the best flea markets in SoCal. It is held once per month on the second Sunday, and for some reason I always miss it.
Not this weekend though! I have been planning on going for weeks, and I finally did it. I had to go solo though, so there's no pictures of my lovely mug today :D I made sure I was at the gate as soon as it opened, but it was already 90 degrees... bleh! I made my way through the hundreds of vendors without dying of heat stroke... barely. I'm pretty sure I missed at least 1/3 of the market too. It's so massive and would probably take at least 3 hours to see it all. I didn't have the attention span in the heat, but what I did see, will definitely have me coming back every month!!
P.S. It's $8/ person and free parking. Bring cash, but most vendors take credit cards too :)
I LOVE these signs!!! I have seen a few on Instagram lately and I want to make one! I think these sell for $200-$600, which isn't all that bad for how stinkin' cool they are!!
There's even a mustache one :D
Here is another DIY I think would be fun. Just a 4x4 board stuck in a bucket of cement... so easy and a great way to hang jewelry!
This is the way to get my attention! A sign that says everything is $10... yes, please! She had some really cute stuff too!!
Lighting & Lanterns seemed to catch my attention all day. Look how cool these are.
And then, there was some very random stuff.... If this would have been $10 I would have bought it! But for $65, I didn't need this deer head.
I really wanted this snake skin! Call me crazy but I so would have something like this as a coffee table runner!! With a glass overlay of course ;)
There were booths upon booths of clothing, but it was just to hot to try anything on :(
More DIY inspiration! See that mint green chest of drawers... my grandma has the exact one from when I was a kid. I am so claiming dibs and refurbing it!
And in case you don't have enough junk in your house, there were tons of cool collectibles everywhere!
I'm not sure what these "glass floats" are for, but aren't they cool? I could totally see a few hanging on a patio somewhere :)
Then, there is this.... in case you needed a new way to store your tissue :D
I loved this booth a lot too! Ms. Junk Gypsy had some really neat things!
Again, more lanterns... they were so beautiful!!
If I had a place for this gorgeous turquoise lamp I would have totally bought it. Isn't it gorgeous?!?
More strangeness.... Kinda fun though!
Then we get into my new obsession.... chandeliers! I have been wanting a chandelier for a really long time now and they were all over at the market. I will begin collecting them, just as soon as I can afford one ;)
Now, I come from a "country" family, but I did not expect to see so many animal heads at a Los Angeles flea market! I have to admit, I think they're pretty awesome though!! (my poor husband is going to be surrounded by the most eccentric stuff when I start furnishing our home :D)
This last pic is for my girlfriends! They are master crafters and are always refurbishing old furniture. There was a ton of shabby chic furniture and people were selling it for crazy prices!
Okay, if you're still with me after all those photos, thank you! I had so much fun and there was so much to look at! If you are near the LA area, you have got to make it to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, seriously the best I've ever been to!!
