Product Review: Revlon 'Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain'

Thursday, September 6, 2012

I have a new product review for you!! As you may know, I have been on a bit of a lipstick craze lately. I have been experimenting with nudes, pinks, reds and even purple lipsticks! My problem though, is that, I suck at reapplying them. I am not one of those girls you see driving down the road putting on lipstick, or pulling out her compact after lunch. I usually put on a coat of color in the morning and after my Starbucks run, I'm au naturel for the rest of the day (Well, I do reapply chap stick). Knowing this about myself, I have tried a variety of lip stains from Cover Girl, Ulta and other drug store brands. Usually, the stains are sticky, they smear every where and wear off within an hour.

However, I have a new stain love, and it's made by Revlon. It's called "Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain." (Oh-em-gee, what a long freaking name right?!?) But if you can get past the 6 word title, it's awesome! I like to call it my "fatty stain crayon," because that's exactly what it is. It reminds me of those big fat crayons I used to use as a kid, only it's for your lips! It's resembles a lip balm because it has a peppermint oil in it (amongst other things), but it has a good rich color to it too!

These are literally the best 2-in-1 color lipsticks I've ever seen! My lips are particularly prone to dry out, so I am pretty obsessive about keeping them hydrated. I can't tell you how many lipsticks I've quit using simply because they dry my lips out. Revlon Lip Balm Stains, do not dry your lips at all! In fact the cooling peppermint oil does the opposite :)

Revlon makes 12 shades, but I have rarely seen more than 5 colors at any retailer. They are selling like hot cakes, and I totally know why! They retail for around $8.50, but I have seen some BOGO deals at Walgreens and Rite Aid on them too. At the moment, I only own one (I must rectify that situation soon). I bought the color "Adore." It looks like a deep red from the package, but it actually has quite a bit of brown and gold undertones; an unexpected, yet pleasant surprise. Below I have posted pictures of almost every color Revlon makes. Thanks to another blogger who actually tested every color! My top faves to try: Honey, Smitten & Lovesick
