Ugh, I know I have been majorly lacking on new diy projects.
I seriously don’t know where the time goes. I've had so much on my plate lately, I
haven’t had much free time to experiment with new crafts. A month or so ago
though, I was able to test out a new Pinterest project. Have you ever been to
those shops in the beach towns, where they have all those neat opaque frosted glass pieces? Well, I found a super simple tutorial on
how to get the same effect without letting an old sprite bottle roll around in
the ocean for a decade. The best part was, I already had all the supplies
in my house!
All you need it:
Elmer’s glue (or the generic version)
All you need it:
Elmer’s glue (or the generic version)
Acrylic paint (color of your choice)
Paint brush
Paint brush
A glass piece you want to paint

The acrylic paint can be found at any craft store for under $1. The "School Glue" and paint brush came from the Dollar Tree. And my glass dish came from The Goodwill, only $2.99.

I mixed my paint on a piece of foil because it doesn't absorb the paint and it's really easy clean up.

I flipped over the glass dish and painted the bottom. I knew I would be putting jewelry in it and I didn't want the jewelry to scratch and chip the paint. So, by painting only one side, I got the frosted effect but still maintained a smooth finish on the inside. You can also do this with vases, but I wouldn't use anything you plan on eating out of.

The finished product! Just paint and let dry and you're ready to go! Now I have yet another cute little dish to display my jewelry in :)

What do you think? Would this DIY effect match the decor in your home? I'm in desperate need of some new DIY's too, so please shoot me any ideas :)
So cute! I love this and will have to try it myself!
