Celebrity to Watch: Elle Fanning

Celebrities are so often the key to spreading fashion trends. Designers seek them out for ad campaigns, brands pay them to be sponsors, and beauty companies convince them to license their name. We love celebrities, we idolize them, we want to be them, and thus we will buy anything they endorse. It is the way of the world. Celebrities are bigger than life. There are dozens of fashionable celebs roaming the streets these days, most notables: Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Rachel Bilson… the list could go on and on. But I want to talk about one of the youngest fashionistas, Elle Fanning.

By the time Elle was 13 she had been featured in more editorials than the number of years she had been alive. Her rise to fame has been swift and at 14 she has already completed 37 films, been on the cover of over 6 magazines and was the face of Marc Jacobs. She has achieved more than most women do by the age of 50 and she still has two years before she gets her driver’s license.  I have been keeping a weather eye out on this one. I feel like Elle is coming into her own and I think she will be on every designer’s radar in the coming years. She has already began to show us she is not afraid to have fun with fashion. She is quirky some days and utterly refined on others. She is still young enough to be playful and take major fashion risks. Elle is the type of girl who will translate to women both young and old. Elle Fanning is one to watch!
