My Edgy Side

Sunday, December 9, 2012

I will be coming face to face with my 30th birthday in less than 3 years, but I am just now coming into my own with my style. I've developed a much stronger confidence and it has allowed me to push my comfort zone with fashion. But man, I feel like I missed out on experimenting when I was younger. Teens and young adults are allowed to wear things that once you hit 25 is deemed inappropriate. I feel like I wasted my younger years being self conscious and conforming to social norms. I wish I would have pushed the boundaries when I had youth on my side. Don't get me wrong, I in no way think that I am old, but bare midriffs are just not appropriate on the other side of 30. Some might think my look today is a bit "immature" and is probably best suited for Miley Cyrus. But, I say to hell with them, because these tights are badass! I could totally see Heidi Klum rocking a pair of leopard tights and cut off shorts, so why not me? This look is probably as punk rock as I get, so don't worry I'm not going to turn into a goth freak. I will continue to take fashion risks as long as I can dress myself, but I urge younger girls to experiment with fashion from a young age and never be confined by others opinions. Oh, "if I only knew then what I know now"... I would have been an even bigger smart ass....

I love the tights! My goodwill never has anything but 80s stuff that should never be worn again, haha! This outfit is totally my style and I love it.
