{outfit post} vintage & lace

Thursday, December 27, 2012

I'm not sure why, but I have been drawn to vintage pieces lately. I never considered myself a vintage connoisseur, but I do appreciate the unique pieces I have been discovering. Part of my affinity for vintage is the rarity of the garments. In the past we never made clothing to the scale we make them now. There was never a Forever 21 who made thirty million of one top and sold them in stores across the world. Don't get me wrong, I love my Forever 21, but I also appreciate uncommon garments. One of my favorite ways to wear vintage is by combining a unique vintage piece with a modern outfit. It's a great way to wear vintage clothing without looking like you just stepped out of a period piece.

I recently found this rose gold over coat. At first glance it seemed a bit geriatric, but the longer I looked at it, the more I fell in love with it. I love the metallic material and the big gold buttons. I also love that it is light weight and can be worn during any season in LA.
