Trend Report: Iridescent

Motel sequin romper, $40 / Jeffrey Campbell black leather boots, $290 / Proenza Schouler leather bag / Forever 21 dome ring / Belle Noel by Kim Kardashian post earrings / Cateye sunglasses, $195 / Forever 21

No, you're not on an acid trip, it's just my newest trend report. I have not heard an official declaration that iridescent is the next trend, but with the rate it is flooding into retail stores, it should be. I first noticed large quantities of iridescent jewelry on Forever 21's website (Here, take a look for yourself). As I began to keep an eye out for iridescent baubles, I suddenly began seeing them everywhere, Nordstrom, Macy's, Charlotte Russe... You get the point. Logically, I suppose it is a natural progression coming off of the huge sequin high we have been experiencing. I know this is going to be one of those trends everyone either loves or hates.

Me, I'm open to it. I have been subconsciously playing into it for months now. It began with a pair of sunglasses I bought before Thanksgiving and then I picked up some psychedelic nail polish around Christmas. Additionally, I had the idea to make a DIY with an iridescent effect. It's creeping up on me! I don't know if I will be able to incorporate this trend into my actual threads, but I will be rocking some very chromatic accessories soon!

I don't know how I actually feel about this. It's kind of too 90s for me.

I think the only iridescent piece I could pull off would be nail polish or small earring! Haha! I think I would just feel silly wearing any other statement item...but then again, on a hipper person that doesn't have two babies I can totally see this working :)

Hmmm I think I’m half and half on this trend. Like I love the shorts, but the rest of the items don’t make me crazy to buy it. It kinda remids me of those cheap nialpolishes haha

New follower from the Aloha Hop; so excited to see this trend. Perhaps because I have some vintage pieces of my mom's that I can dig out to make work! Plus, I by accident, have quite a few iridescent nail polishes. You know the kind you think will be beautifully dark and then ... aren't? One thing I love about following blogs... people like you keep me on trend! Make it a wonderful weekend, jules
