Simple & Chic

Being unemployed means finding it difficult to get dressed everyday. In order to combat laziness, I do try to get up, put make up on and attempt to make myself presentable to the world. There are many days I wish I could stay in my pajamas all day (but only a few that I in fact do). I have found new ways to be well dressed, without being over dressed. For example, these Tory Burch flats elevate any outfit, because well... they're Tory-freaking-Burch! Did I mention I only paid six bucks for them?!?!?! Major, major steal! I have been hunting a pair of Tory Burch flats for a couple years now, and I refuse to pay $80 for the used ones on eBay. I don't mind second hand, but that's a little much for used shoes in my opinion. I paired my luxurious flats with my tattered old jeans and a flowy blouse for an effortless chic vibe. I also went retro with a messy bun instead of the ever-trendy top knot. Do you remember the messy bun? I remember the first time I tried it in junior high, and there was a "specific" way to do it, LOL. Now we have the more polished version, a top knot. I still use messy buns, but they're usually reserved for only me to see.

Do you have any tips for staying stylish while being unemployed?

I have been meaning to tell you for a while that I really like how you started including your outfit details on the pictures themselves, like a magazine. I think it looks really polished and I wish I had the blogging wherewithal right now to A) blog again and B) do something as cute as that.

P.s. The fact that you are getting out of bed is an accomplishment! My former roommate lost her job last year right after moving in and it was like she was hibernating. Good for you on forcing yourself to get out and about!

I love a good steal and that outfit was a steal! You look great! I stay at home with my kiddos, not really unemployed, but I have to make myself get out of my PJ's some days. I placed a mirror against the wall so that when I wore something cute I take a quick picture and instagram it and it really makes me put that extra 2 minutes in my outfit that day. I am constantly searching the clearance racks at target for great deals on a budget.

I feel ya! I'm finishing up my masters degree so the only reason I get out of my apartment is for class a couple times a week and my part-time job, where I have to wear a certain shirt, so I understand not wanting to actually get dressed up. I only dress up for class, but if I go out anywhere I try to tell myself that I'll see my boyfriend or even an enemy (haha) so I always would want to look best in front of those two opposites lol

That may or may not work for you, but good luck!
