I'm sure you're all aware that the Coachella Music Festival is taking place this weekend and next. If you've never heard of Coachella, well, let me tell you, it is one of the premier events for street fashion. At some point in history, Coachella became a fashion mecca, for celebrities, bloggers, and groupies. Brands and Designers fight over celebrities to wear their garments to the festival. There are parties thrown at surrounding hotels/tents by magazines, celebrities and fashion designers. It's probably more exciting than the Oscars. I unfortunately have not had the pleasure of attending yet; tickets sell out a year in advance! But, I have however kept a keen eye on the fashion scene, so I do have a pretty good idea of the vibe that happens. The general style people go for at Coachella, is boho, rocker/grunge or both. At any given moment you can find fringe, macrame, maxis, tie-dye, distressed, acid washed, studs and leather. It is really an eccentric scene. I found this really Pinterest y cool board dedicated to Coachella fashion if you wanna check it out. So, with all that in mind, I decided to tailor my Friday Finds around Coachella Style. As you can see everything I picked is a statement piece, and I would never advice wearing multiple statement pieces in everyday life, but Coachella is the exception. People break fashion norms, and start new trends out in that dessert, and I respect them for that!!
If you are planning on attending Coachella, remember it is in the middle of the dessert, and weather can be extreme. Usually it is extremely hot, but last year a crazy rainstorm came through, leaving the attendees totally unprepared. My suggestion is to bring clothing options for various weather conditions. Also make sure to bring: sun block (lots of it), plenty of water and snacks, a camera and a good pair of shoes. I can speak from my experience at Lalapalooza, that events like this although fun, become very, very long if you're not fully prepared! If you're going, make a fashion statement, but don't leave your practicality at home. Are any of you planning on going to Coachella this year??
