Beauty Trend Alert: Colored Mascara

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

When I was in junior high, circa 1998, I was in love with my cobalt blue mascara! It was the coolest thing I could get my hands on in 7th grade! However, by the time I reached high school, the colored mascara fad had been replaced by twisted cornrows and vanilla lip smackers. I am a big fan of fun beauty trends, so I was so excited to see colored mascara grace the runways again!

Although I didn't run out and buy every color, I did snag Rimmel London's "POP purple" mascara. I didn't know what to expect, but it really is hip! I'm obviously not going to wear purple mascara everyday, but it is a fun treat! I am tempted to buy a blue mascara, just for old times sake. I will stay away from the red and pink ones, as they make me look super tired.

According to ELLE, pink mascara is good for an avant-garde look, green is best for blue and green eyes. Purple is best worn during the day, and can really accentuates brown eyes. Bronze is a universal color, and really makes your eyes pop. Blue/turquoise is well suited for blue and brown eyes, and goes great with thick winged eyeliner. If you really want to make the mascara stand out, add a similar color shadow for a major wow effect!

There is noticeably a bundle to know about this. I assume you made certain nice points in features also.
