DIY Tassel Earrings

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Okay, so I am probably a little late on this DIY, but I finally decided I wanted to make a pair of tassel earrings for myself. The internet is filled with various DIY's for tassel earrings, but this is my (incredibly simple) take.

What You'll Need:
Scissors (not pictured)
Needle Nose Pliers
Jump Rings
Fish Hook Earring
Tassels (4 for $2 at Hobby Lobby)

The tassels come with one inch looped rope on top of them. You could hang them directly from that, but I wanted mine shorter.

I snipped the extra rope from the top, but left the little knot to keep the tassels from unraveling.

Next, I wiggled the knot loose and put a jump ring through the middle of it. You will have to use the needle nose pliers to open the jump ring, and then squeeze it back together once it is attached. Then I used a dab of liquid stitch to keep the knot from coming undone.

Lastly, after the glue dried, I attached the fish hook earring to each jump ring. You have to use the pliers again to open the bottom of the fish hook, and then squeeze to close once your earring is attached.

Voila! It so simple and it takes no time at all! The cost per pair is under $2! I will definitely be giving some of these out for Christmas!

I am planning on making a few more pairs with beads and painted ends. These are just the basic model, but there is so much more you can do with these!!
