New Year's Eve Dress Guide

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Now that Christmas is come and gone, everyone has moved into NYE planning. Most of you have already figured out where you will be going, but have you figured out what to wear yet? Odds are, No. We're women, we vacillate over what to wear for weeks and then change our minds 20 minutes before anyways. Hopefully my NYE dress guide will help you get on the right track.

The Party Girl: Millions will flock to nightclubs around the world for New Year's eve and ring in the new year with hundreds of drunk strangers, perhaps even finding a new someone to share that first new year's kiss with. This girl wants to stand out in the crowd! She needs something eye catching, yet suitable for dancing the night away in. Great trends for the party girl would be sequins or cut outs!

The Artsy Girl: Are you the type of girl who plans on attending an art opening, or an indie concert in a dive bar? If you are, you'll need a dress that is a masterpiece all on it's own. There are some really amazing prints to check out this season and don't be afraid to pick some eclectic accessories to accompany it.

The Modern Girl: Do you drink your martini dry with two olives? Are you planning on attending a friends party in their 12th floor flat in Manhattan? If you're a modern woman who appreciates clean lines and minimal accessories, this is still a time to shine. There are plenty of simple classic silhouettes to choose from this season and pair them with delicate jewelry.

The Modest Girl: Are you the type of girl would would rather leave more to the imagination? Are you planning on hosting a party at your own home with your friends and their kids? Does shiny, stretchy material make you cringe? I would suggest to a beautiful tweed or charmeuse dress.

What are your plans for New Year's? I honestly have none yet... I might end up on my couch drinking champagne in the comfort of my own home. But, you can bet I'll be decked out in sequins ;)

I love the first outfit with the multicolored sequins, so fun! I don't have anywhere fancy to go for NYE so doesn't look like I'll be dressing up.
