I'm the designated shopper in our house (as if that's not obvious). I do the shopping for groceries, toiletries and all clothing. The only thing I don't do is electronics. My husband is fairly easy going when it comes to apparel, his only stipulations are that it must be soft and not make him sweat. He basically lives in shorts and t-shirts. He is not fashion forward, I am aware of that and there's pretty much nothing I can do about it. I still try however, like the other day I brought home this plaid button down for him. He actually loved this shirt, but it was too big for him. We were both really bummed, because it's a great shirt! It's extremely soft and it has a worn in feel (i think it's almost see through in some places). Instead of taking the shirt back, I decided I wanted to keep it for myself. It's a mens extra large, so it is way too big for me too, but with a little knotting and rolling of the sleeves, you can hardly tell!
I paired the shirt with a pair of denim shorts and lace up boots. I have witnessed the trend of the mid calf lace up boot resurgence, but, I refuse to buy a pair of these cowboy inspired boots... I happen to already own a pair. When I went home over Christmas, I had my mom dig these old things out of the closet! They are over 13 years old and they have actual cow shit on them! Take that hipsters! I recognize that I look like a total hipster in this outfit, but It doesn't bother me. I love being able to create a look that is completely on trend while utilizing re-imagined materials.

You are totally rocking the hipster look! I'm like you, I don't really have a certain style because I find so many different pieces when thrifting. One day you're hipster, the next you can be a prepster. And I literally LOLed when I read that those boots had actual cow shit on them!

I love the cost/retail comparison that you do! And this look is great. Makes me wish my boyfriend wore more button up shirts so I could try something like this. :)

I am so jealous of girls who can pull off slightly over-sized button down shirts (or, really any kind of over-sized shirt), when I try to do it, it doesn't look at all like I did it on purpose. I end up just looking bulky. :-/ Anyway, super-cute!!!
